Meet the founding partners of VK&S: CA Varun Vijaywargi, CA Pavan Khabiya and CA Ashish Saoji, each leading defined practice areas across taxation, audit, financing, incentives, insolvency and advisory assignments.
CA Varun Vijaywargi, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with 21 years of experience, heads the firm’s Indirect Tax practice. He advises businesses across sectors on GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, UAE VAT, legacy excise, service tax, CST and VAT, departmental proceedings, Labour Cess, audits and investigations, cross-border transactions and tax litigation.
He has guided clients through the GST transition and continues to advise on the indirect-tax implications of business models and supply chains. Before founding the firm, he worked with ELP and JCSS.
Regularly invited to speak on indirect taxation and policy at professional forums, industry events and ICAI programmes, he also contributes articles and commentary to journals, newspapers and online publications. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED), supporting its policy dialogue and economic and industrial development initiatives in Vidarbha.
CA Pavan Khabiya heads the Tax Compliance practice at VK&S and oversees audits and ongoing compliance work. A Chartered Accountant since 2003, he brings substantial depth of knowledge in direct taxation, Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) matters and broader legal and regulatory compliance, alongside indirect taxation.
His work covers consolidated financial statements, due diligence reviews of accounting functions, implementation of accounting standards, development of internal-control systems and special audits. His financial due diligence for M&A assesses business risks, growth drivers and potential deal breakers. He also leads the firm’s income-tax litigation practice and represents clients before adjudicating and appellate authorities up to CIT (Appeals). Before founding the firm, he was part of the tax team at Krishna Murari Agrawal & Co.
He is regularly invited to deliver presentations to ICAI students and members and to speak at other professional forums, sharing practical perspectives on taxation and compliance.
CA Ashish Saoji leads the Project Financing vertical of the firm and has extensive experience in preparing detailed project reports and proposals for bank credit facilities. He has completed the Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA) of ICAI and holds a post-graduation degree in commerce as well as a bachelor's degree in law.
His work covers advisory and financial monitoring during project implementation, optimisation of finance cost including ROI, bank charges and stamp duty implications, and assistance in obtaining Eligibility Certificates and yearly Industrial Promotion Subsidy claims under the Package Scheme of Incentives. He is also a qualified Insolvency Professional and has assisted debt-laden companies before the NCLT.
